God is still in Control ~

god is in control

“If I profess, with the loudest voice and the clearest exposition, every portion of the truth of God except precisely that little point which the world and the devil are at that moment attacking, I am not confessing Christ, however boldly I may be professing Christianity. Where the battle rages the loyalty of the soldier is proved; and to be steady on all the battle-field besides is mere flight and disgrace to him if he flinches at that one point.- Elizabeth Rundle Charles

A profound truth from a woman in the 1800’s is perfect for the times we live in today. How do we counter culture today? Balancing the truth of Jesus in love and standing FIRM on the Bible. Lord, give us wisdom, courage and a new pouring out of boldness for you. The greatest offense in any culture is the Gospel.

The Bible is being fulfilled before our eyes. This should actually fuel the gospel. We need to gather our weapons and trust our God. Know that we know how the battle ends. It is written in the word. Finish strong in our faith. Press in like never before. For our God is the Alpha and Omega, He is the Beginning and the End. Our God is FAITHFUL ~

This is really a Selah moment…. How many of us Christians stay silent when the topics of abortion and homosexuality come up. Or Isis. Or other controversial subjects because it is not in my backyard. Well folks we have stayed silent so long that it is in our backyard and we need to speak up in love or we all lose not just us Christians.

Amen Don. Love that we are learning and growing together. The same Gospel that compels us to speak of Jesus also compels us to stand for God’s word and the hot topics of today. Nothing else matters….. but faith expressing itself in love ~

When it comes to these topics and more these days, I hear people always ask the same question? Why is this happening? Why does God allow that to happen? What I have found to be true in my life as a Christian, (and sometimes I feel guilty calling myself Christian, as I am no poster child, thats for sure), is that these things happen because they are preordained in the Word of God. They are foretold of what to expect. When it happens, those of us who have read God’s Word recognize His Hand at work. Others, they act in fear and blame God for bad things happening. Sometimes, I have to turn off the TV, the internet, the sounds of hate in my ears, in order to “be still”. When someone asks the question, Why?, I simply say, read your bible. Its in there. It tells of this. But, I stop here in this moment to say this, I can’t help but feel frustrated sometimes when people ask why, because its like looking at someone who you just told not to put their hand in the fire or they will get burned, and later they call you to say, “I’ve been burned, what do I do?” Sometimes my frustration comes in the form of confusion and anger because you look around you and wonder, “where is my army to stand with me in these times of trouble?” And then, I remember, when you face the “giant” you are standing alone, in the natural, but surrounded by legions of Angels in the supernatural. We are not alone. We might feel alone, but we must always remember, our fight is not of flesh and blood, but of powers of darkness. If we ever really grasp the biggness of God, we will soon realize, WE DO NOT LOSE!! Again I want to say thank you to my dear friend Darla who takes the time to put it in writing, those words that soothe like a salve. Keep your slingshot handy my dear girl, there are many giants out there to slay!!! XXOO
